Below is an example guideline 7 night itinerary for a Pemba and Zanzibar Archipelago Island Hopping Charter.

Pemba & Zanzibar Archipelago – 40 islands to explore

Day 1: Nungwi / Mnemba Island Atoll

Guests meet on the beach in Nungwi and board the boat at 8 am.

  • After a welcome cocktail and skippers briefing, guests can get busy exploring their cabins and the boat
  • The captain and crew will then slip the mooring and depart for the Mnemba Island Atoll, approx a 2h30 min sail from Nungwi in the north of Zanzibar
  • Upon arrival at the Mnemba Island Atoll, divers will be prepared for their first dive on Kitchwani Wall
  • Snorkelers are welcome to snorkel the top of this dive site too
  • The yacht will anchor in the lagoon area for lunch
  • Afternoon dive on dive site: Wattabomi
  • Snorkelers will be taken to Mnemba Island home reef for snorkeling after 2nd dive
  • Yacht will anchor for dinner and overnight in the shelter of the Mnemba Island Attol

Day 2: Mnemba Island Atoll / Njao Gap Pemba Island

  • The plan would be for an early morning dive (7 am) at either Wattabomi or Kitchwani  Wall (Guests preference) before departure for the North West coast of Pemba Island. Breakfast and lunch en route. Plan to arrive at Njao Gap late afternoon, hopefully in time for a late afternoon dive.
  • The yacht will anchor in the inland lagoon area off the Ngezi Rainforest
  • Dinner and overnight

Day 3: Njao Gap / Fundu Gap

  • After breakfast, our first dive will be in Njao Gap – South Wall
  • Optional: Forest walk before lunch in the Ngezi Rain Forrest
  • After lunch, we will plan 2nd dive – Outside Gap, South Wall
  • After 2nd dive, we will depart for Fundu Gap
  • Anchor in the inland lagoon area for dinner and overnight

Day 4: Fundu Gap / Uvinje Gap

  • Breakfast and morning dive on Manta Nice snorkelling here too…
  • Lunch then afternoon dive on South Wall outside before sailing south for our anchorage at Uvinje Gap
  • Dinner and overnight

Day 5: Uvinje Gap / Mesali Island

  • Breakfast then morning dive at Uvinje Gap, North wall of the gap
  • R&R onboard the yacht and snorkelling till lunch
  • After lunch, afternoon dive will be on Kashani Island
  • After 2nd dive, we will head south for our anchorage at Mesali Island
  • Dinner and overnight

Day 6: Mesali Island

  • Breakfast and a morning swim/snorkel. Then plan to head out to dive site (Coral Garden) for the morning dive
  • R&R onboard yacht Walkabout or on the islands beautiful Snorkeling off the beach here is good too.
  • Lunch onboard Walkabout then afternoon dive off Mesali Island West Wall
  • Return to Mesali island to anchor for dinner and overnight
  • Optional: Good idea to take a torch for an evening island walk to check out the huge coconut crabs that can be seen here on Mesali Island

Day 7: Mesali Island / Nungwi Zanzibar

  • Breakfast and early morning dive on The Dive site is on the north wall outside of the gap to Mesali After dive, the yacht will depart for the return journey to Nungwi, Zanzibar. The plan would be to depart Mesali Island in Pemba timeously so as to disembark guest in Nungwi at around 18h00 in the evening.

This is a sample itinerary which can and will be flexible to our guest’s requirements wherever possible. Our captain will advise possible alternatives and he will have the final say on any changes made to this itinerary. Should guests decide to stay in one area they enjoy for a longer period of time; the itinerary will be adjusted to cater for their requirements. Currents/tides could play a factor in the timing of this itinerary and guests should be made aware that we will dive this plan according to the conditions on the day. Safety being of paramount importance.
